Ashuri detained in Iran: ‘I should have returned earlier’

Anusheh Ashuri, a British-Iranian man who was released from prison in Tehran earlier this month, spoke about his experience of being held on espionage charges since 2017.

The 68-year-old man was released along with Nazanin Zagari-Ratcliffe. Their release came after the UK settled a historic war debt with Iran, although both governments have said the two issues should not be linked.

Watch his interview with BBC diplomatic correspondent Caroline Hawley.
